Top Junior Golfers to Play at Selangor Masters, Thanks to Etiqa
06/18/2011Kuala Lumpur – The Selangor International Junior Masters 2011, presented by Etiqa Insurance and
Takaful, ended today and rewarded its top 4 junior golfers with a place to play at the upcoming
Selangor Masters.

In line with our brand promise of humanizing insurance and takaful, Etiqa is serious in cultivating and supporting the development of youth, in this case for the junior golfers to compete and gain experience at the higher level professional tournaments,” commented Mr Hans De Cuyper, Chief Executive Officer, Etiqa Insurance & Takaful.
The Selangor International Junior Masters, which is sanctioned by the Malaysian Golf Association or
MGA, was held at Kelab Golf Seri Selangor (KGSS) from June 9 to June 11 and doubles up as a qualifier for the Selangor Masters. This year, Tan Wei Chean, Ng Choo Teck, Mohd Hisyam Abd Majid and Chan Tuck Soon from Malaysia will soon be teeing it up with professionals of the Asian Tour at the
Selangor Masters in July 2011.
The Selangor International Junior Masters is fast gaining reputation as one of the top junior tournaments in the country. “This year‟s tournament saw the participation of more than 90 junior golfers from England, Laos, Korea, Myanmar and the host country, Malaysia. I am happy that the reputation and recognition of this junior tournament, which is presented by Etiqa, has started to catch the attention of more international junior players,” added Mr Hans De Cuyper.
The tournament was divided into 5 categories – Under-12; Under-15; Under-18, Under-21 and Under-
21 girls. The top 4 winners of the boys Under-18 and Under-21 categories will get to play in the
Selangor Masters, to be held at the Kota Permai Golf & Country Club in July 2011.
Tan Wei Chean was crowned as the overall winner with a 3-day score of 73-73-76 (222) and received
the Piala Menteri Besar Selangor and a MacBook. Isza Fariza Ismail received the Piala Setiausaha
Kerajaan Negeri Selangor and iPhone 4 for being the winner in the female category. Meanwhile,
Thomas Low, from the Under-21 category, scored a „Hole In One‟ at the 8th hole and received Etiqa travel bag. Adding to the excitement, Etiqa also sponsored iPhone 4 for the Champion, iTouch for 2nd place, iPod Nano for 3rd place and iPod Shuffle for 4th and 5th place of each category.

Y.B. Dato‟ Ramli Mahmud, Selangor State Secretary and Mr Hans De Cuyper, Chief Executive Officer,
